What a busy day we had today. Started off going to Alameda to tour the USS Hornet which is a sister ship to the USS Shangrila. The aircraft carrier dad was on during WWII. It was very cool and I learned that the wings on the planes folded up so they could fit more on board but now they are fixed wing and most stay on the flight deck instead of going below. We saw the type of plane he flew in. He was the Radio Gunner on a Torpedo Plane, news to me. On the way home we stopped by Clay People where I scored glazes for 50 cents each. I'll be going back by there on my way home when I can take my time. After that we went to our favorite Chinese Buffet. The food is delicious and the selections never cease to amaze. Today they had these killer pork buns and seafood bread. The seafood bread was like a savory donut with a creamy seafood and veggie filling. We pigged out then came home for some R&R.
Later on we headed out to Best Buy to pick up Galen's new replacement camera. He told the clerk at customer service that this was the first time in 55 years he has used an extended warranty and she said, "You had that camera for 55 years?" No comment.
After Best Buy we headed to Frys, have I mentioned I love technology. Galen got dad a better antenna for his wireless and I picked up a SD card reader. I could spend hours there but with the "boys" I feel like I have to hurry. Plus, I'm waiting for pay day.
Dad want's to check out where a couple of churches are tomorrow and he needs a floor lamp so we'll hit a couple of second hand stores. The weather was perfect today. I'm not looking forward to the predicted 80s but I will not complain.
Have a wonderful Memorial Weekend and remember our active troops and veterans.
