Too hot for this old gal the last couple of days but it's much nicer today. I actually went out and mowed the front yard around 3:30 and it wasn't too bad at all. Lots of shade in the front so I don't have to worry about too much sun. I'll do the drive way for the fourth time this year later this evening. All the rain made it keep growing longer than usual. I prefer pulling the weeds but it's too dry now.
Heading to Sacto. tomorrow with some friends to pick up their new RV. Then we'll be planning some camping trips, hopefully to the coast, Half Moon Bay is calling me but I want hook-ups and to think I used to fault people who camped in RVs.
I've been working on a crochet dog harness for little dogs. Regular harnesses are too bulky and most little dogs don't need much, just something to hook the leash to. They have real sensitive necks so collars don't work. I think I have it figured out. The girls aren't real fond of the fittings once they figure out we aren't going anywhere. Last night I was missing a shoe and went looking for it and found Gretta with the shoe and two balls of yarn all tangled up.

Looking forward to the Country Throwdown with Willie and a bunch of other country singers this Sunday at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys. I'm volunteering with a couple of friends. We will be keeping the recyclables collected rather than our usual job. We start our usual volunteering next month.

Father's Day Camp-out - Clalveras Big Trees

Big camping trip this week-end to Calaveras Big Trees. It was our AMA group and we've been planning this for months. We had a blast, the Minnie Winnie ran like a top, we had 20 people and 11 dogs. I think we were a little too much for the Rangers when we went to check in. We had been told they would try to put us all together especially if we showed up at the same time and we were scattered all over so I spoke up and long story chort, we ended up with a great spot and a good time was had by all. We have decided to make it an annual June event.
There was great company, gourmet food, mega marshmallow smores, laughs, laughs and more laughs. We met some new friends and a few couldn't make it and we really missed them. We had a ceremony both Friday and Saturday nights to retire some American and Californian flags. If you have never attended a ceremony like that you should go at least once, it's very moving.

And now the rest of the story, ever have one of these days? You're standing on the back of the front seat fixing the bunk bed in the RV and as soon as you step back you know you're going down . . . Well I did, flat on my back, hard and on the way down I bumped the gravy which went flying all over the coffee pot, computer cord, table and just missed my crochet project. We'll I couldn't fill my water tanks so all I had was a couple of pans with iced cold water from the tap, ever tried to clean up gravy with ice cold water? So OK, that mess cleaned up and I decide to get dressed, within 5 minutes my shirt is filthy with something brown all over the left side, I decide to clean it, not thinking about the fact that I am at a camp ground and everything is dusty and dust migrates to damp fabric, well, you get the picture. Finally, we're all loaded, warming Winnie up, Cindy notices I need to get my wood ramps and stairs put away so . . . on the way I stepped on a stick with one foot and proceeded to jam the stick into the other foot. OK, taking it real slow now, it is one of those days. Then last but not least, while fixing a little spot under the drivers
seat for Annie I hit the emergency
brake with my head, so hard that I cut a huge spot open and was bleeding pretty good and once was not enough, I had to do it again a little while later.
I was very glad to get home as I forgot my meds for the week-end and was very anxious about coming across the bridge that is only about five minutes from home. I fell asleep writing an e-mail so I laid down and took a really long nap.
Had a wonderful time, wish you were there.

Greetings . . . not much going on, the lap top is dead so my computer time is less than half what it was. I'm super busy with school and I've started crocheting a little. It is finally summer, way too hot but that's what happens here in July and August. I've been riding the bike a little and I'm always reminded how much I love it as soon as I start catching air. Heading to Galen's for a visit tomorrow, he's going out of town to a marble convention so I'm going to keep dad company.
Have a productive week . . .

I have been fighting with the lap top for two days now. Glad I have the desktop for help with figuring out how to fix it. School this week, no air conditioner on Monday, fixed half way through Wednesday. Homey is not a happy camper without cool air.
The weather is back to the low 90s high 80s. When it's like this I am able to accomplish projects outside.
Volunteering at Ironstone on Saturday for their Independence Day celebration. It will be the first time in years that I'll get to watch fireworks.
Have a safe 4th of July.

102 - I'm inside in front of the swamp cooler, and I'm quite comfortable, thank you very much.

I just wanted to share some pics of the berry bushes. They are solid berries or blossoms. Can't wait to get out there and start picking. When it cools down of course.

While I was out there I found Moe in the back of the El Camino taking a nap. I still think he's special. that's why I love him so much.
